Univ of Toronto’s Victoria University Goes Mobile With Campus- 411

The Victoria University Students Administrative Council (VUSAC) has been the first college at the University of Toronto to use Campus- 411’s text messaging platform as a means of communicating with their students. VUSAC president Zinzi de Silva took the lead bringing the Campus-411 program to Victoria College as a new means to handle communication challenges and campus alerts. “We are constantly struggling to get information out to students, whether it’s about campus events, important dates or alerts on campus. These days virtually every student has a cell phone…Campus-411 gives us another way of communication with the students, plus the fact that it reaches their cell phone means we can alert them to something immediately catching their attention”

UWO’s Kings College adopts the Campus-411 program.

After a recent bomb threat on campus Kings College realized that they needed a way to communicate with students who were on the move. The current campus notification system mainly centers around email which isn’t much help when it comes to warning students who are away from their computer and already on their way to campus. However, now that Kings has partnered with Campus-411 students can receive a text message alerting instantly to issues on campus.

UWO’s Huron College Partners with Campus-411 to Rock On

Huron College has partnered with Campus-411 to notify students about upcoming events, notices and campus alerts. Campus-411 will be promoting the upcoming Guitar Hero “Rock On” contest at Huron College’s Feb 15 event.
